Summary We are seeking a skilled
Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join a major international project in
Leiden, South Holland. This role is suited to professionals with expertise in procurement, cost control, and contract management who are ready to take responsibility for key commercial deliverables. With an initial 12-month, full-time on-site contract, this is an excellent opportunity to work on an industry-leading development.

Client Overview Our client is a global engineering and project services organisation, responsible for delivering complex, high-value infrastructure and industrial projects worldwide. They are recognised for their technical expertise and ability to execute projects to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Responsibilities- Oversee and support tendering activities and contract preparation
- Assemble accurate and complete tender packages for submission
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and pricing documentation
- Administer the tender process from initial request to final recommendation
- Review submissions, evaluate proposals, and provide clear recommendations
- Conduct commercial negotiations during tender clarifications
- Produce tender evaluation reports and documentation for approval
- Assist with contract finalisation ensuring compliance with governance standards
- Liaise with design teams to validate technical and commercial completeness
- Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks
- Maintain comprehensive audit trails and procurement documentation
- Administer supplier contracts during construction
Must-have Requirements- Proven Mechanical Quantity Surveyor experience on large-scale technical projects
- Strong understanding of BoQ preparation, tendering procedures, and compliance governance
- Excellent commercial skills and an ability to manage multiple procurement packages
- Competence in documentation and risk control
- Availability to work full-time on-site in Leiden
Nice-to-have Skills- Previous work on data centres or industrial projects
- Knowledge of European procurement frameworks
- Familiarity with contract management and cost planning software
