As a Permit to Work (PTW) Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in supporting safe and compliant operations on a major decommissioning and carbon capture project based in Talacre. This position is well suited for professionals with proven experience managing PTW systems in the oil and gas sector who are looking to join a collaborative team focused on operational excellence and safety integrity.

Location and Working Pattern
Based in Talacre. Full‑time, 5.5 days per week on a 2‑year contract. The role operates outside IR35.


Client Overview
Our client is a leading engineering and energy organisation delivering large‑scale infrastructure and decommissioning projects across the UK. They are committed to safe, sustainable operations and will provide training and support to help you perform effectively in this key coordination role.


Responsibilities
  • Assess and process permit requests in line with established PTW procedures
  • Conduct site walkthroughs for areas covered under permit requests
  • Collaborate with Area Authorities, Performing Authorities, contractors and subcontractors
  • Ensure all associated work control documents (Isolations, Gas Testing, exclusion drawings, P&IDs, etc.) are valid and correctly referenced
  • Issue and authorise permits
  • Manage Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) to ensure coordination across site activities
  • Monitor active permits and manage close‑outs upon completion
  • Identify hazards and maintain the permit register
  • Oversee compliance through audits and system monitoring


Must‑have Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Permit to Work Officer or PTW Coordinator within the oil and gas industry
  • Knowledge of permit control processes, safety management and compliance auditing
  • Strong communication and organisational skills


Nice‑to‑have Skills

  • Understanding of decommissioning or carbon capture projects
  • Experience coordinating multi‑disciplinary teams and contractors
