Senior Civil Engineer – Onshore Wind


Summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Civil Engineer to work on onshore wind projects in Romania. This role is perfect for professionals with proven experience in wind farm infrastructure design who are looking to contribute to significant renewable energy developments across Eastern Europe.


Location and Working Pattern
Romania – On-site. Applicants must be eligible to work in Europe; UK citizens with the correct work permissions will also be considered.

Our client is a highly regarded renewable energy organisation, dedicated to delivering sustainable onshore wind projects across Europe through innovation and engineering excellence.


Responsibilities

• Lead the full lifecycle of civil design activities for multiple wind farm sites in Romania.
• Oversee design outputs for haul roads, foundations, substation compounds, drainage, and crane pads.
• Integrate ground investigation findings into design solutions to maintain engineering quality.
• Provide design reviews, technical validation, and approvals of engineering documentation.
• Mentor and support developing engineers within the project team.
• Ensure effective communication across electrical, environmental, and planning disciplines.
• Carry out engineering oversight during the construction phase, including site checks and design compliance monitoring.
• Control schedule, quality, and cost aspects related to civil engineering works.

Must-have Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Chartered engineer status or working towards chartership.
• Over 10 years of civil engineering experience, with a strong focus on onshore wind projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in the design and build of wind farm civil infrastructure.
• Legal right to work in Romania or wider European Union.

Nice-to-have Skills

• Familiarity with Romanian permitting and compliance processes.
• Experience working with local authorities and regulatory institutions.
