Principal Process Engineer

The Principal Process Engineer is responsible for designing and optimising processes, engineering and commissioning new plants. Performing investigations of failed equipment, troubleshooting and improving the performance of existing facilities. The role is suited to people with a strong background in chemical and/or process engineering.

A Principal Process Engineer provides leadership and project management of a variety of large scale industrial projects, drawing on their strong technical knowledge of process design. The Principal Process Engineer is typically responsible for running the day-to-day operations of a specific piece of equipment or system. The Principal Process Engineer is in charge of leading, managing and directing people.

A Principal Process Engineer is someone who has many years of experience in the field. They are also responsible for designing new products and production processes, as well as repair and maintenance of existing equipment and systems. A Principal Process Engineer needs to be organised, detail-orientated and able to create or analyse data sets so that their team can fully understand what needs to be done.

A Principal Process Engineer is usually required to have extensive technical and practical experience in process engineering in the same or similar industry including experience in working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
