Site Engineer

A Site Engineer is typically responsible for managing the technical delivery of key packages of work. Including coordinating the engineering work required and providing an oversight to ensure work is completed on time and to specification. Working as a Site Engineer you’ll usually be the main liaison between the contractor and subcontractors onsite, to provide technical resolutions and manage all queries relating to the engineering work you’re responsible for overseeing. The Site Engineer should also expect to work alongside key people such as the Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor and Site Manager.

Candidates looking to work as a Site Engineer will normally need to hold a degree level qualification in an engineering field, and have several years’ experience working within similar roles.

Key skills a Site Engineer will need to hold include project management, technical design skills, knowledge of building regulations and industry standards, health and safety training and people coordination.​

Faslane

​On the north of Scotland, Faslane is a major Royal Navy dockyard and base which is home to the UK’s fleet of Vanguard-class submarines.

The new nuclear submarine engineering facility in Faslane is home to the Royal Navy's fleet of nuclear submarines and is one of the most environmentally friendly facilities of its kind in the world. The travel to Faslane is easy and convenient thanks to its close proximity to Glasgow. The A78 will take you directly into the town centre, as well as connecting with the M8 and M74 motorways. There are several trains that service Faslane from Glasgow Central station.
