Commissioning Engineer EC&I – Sellafield

Location: Sellafield, Cumbria

Hours: 40 per week with potential shift pattern (4 days on / 4 days off, 12-hour rolling shifts)

Clearance: BPSS & P4 required

We are seeking a highly motivated Commissioning Engineer (EC&I) to join our dynamic team supporting critical infrastructure and commissioning activities at Sellafield. This is a rewarding opportunity to be part of a pivotal nuclear project, where your skills will directly influence safety, delivery, and technical excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Witness vendor testing during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)

  • Develop commissioning test specifications for plant systems

  • Conduct early installation inspections to facilitate timely system handover

  • Deliver testing activities throughout the IPC commissioning phase

  • Identify faults and implement effective, timely solutions

  • Coordinate Commissioning Technicians and technical support staff

  • Initiate and implement Field Operations Bulletins (FOBs)

  • Validate Working Level Instructions for safety and clarity

  • Manage the application and safe removal of Temporary Commissioning Aids

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven background in commissioning of nuclear CE&I systems

  • Minimum HNC/HND in an Engineering-related discipline

  • Experience working in nuclear commissioning environments

  • Knowledge of project management principles; APM membership desirable

  • Competent in producing calculations using Excel

  • IOSH Managing Safely certification

  • SMSTS or SSSTS qualification

  • CSCS/ECS supervisory card relevant to EC&I trade
