Electrical Lead / Electrical Package Manager – Life Sciences Projects (London)
Our client has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Lead / Electrical Package Manager to join their Life Sciences team in London.
Reporting to the Regional Director or Regional Electrical Lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of electrical systems across large-scale or multiple smaller projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with our client’s Zero objectives across Safety, Quality, and Energy.
Equally important is the leadership and motivation of internal teams to deliver fully integrated and commissioned electrical systems, aligned with both design specifications and statutory compliance—ensuring a seamless, high-performance handover to the end client.
Key Responsibilities
Drive all MEP technical and commercial elements in accordance with pre-construction procedures.
Lead the tendering and award process for MEP packages to meet procurement strategy and objectives.
Oversee temporary electrical requirements, including load and energy assessments.
Provide leadership, guidance, and motivation to MEP teams to ensure high performance and accountability.
Support resource planning for project delivery across building services disciplines.
Ensure MEP delivery aligns with company management procedures, guidance documentation, and PEPs.
Finalise installation and commissioning programmes, integrating them with the main construction schedule.
Liaise early with utility providers to confirm infrastructure and interface requirements are met.
Direct the production of co-ordination and builders works drawings to satisfy project timelines.
Oversee full equipment/plant tracking, from submittals through ordering, delivery, and quality checks.
Actively manage project risk, ensuring mitigation measures are in place for programme, contract, or commercial concerns.
Ensure proper execution of QMS snagging, inspections, and sign-off procedures for MEP installations.
Govern startup processes and control of live energies in line with safety standards.
Implement and manage ITP and commissioning/handover plans specific to site requirements.
Candidate Requirements
10+ years’ experience in managing complex, large-scale MEP projects.
Strong knowledge of the MEP supply chain and industry dynamics.
Academic qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical or MEP Engineering.
Professional membership with institutions such as CIBSE, CIOB, IEI (or equivalent).
Accredited at MCIBSE level (or equivalent).
Training in Live Energies / Arc Flash and IOSH or equivalent H&S certification.
Strong understanding of BIM fundamentals, project planning and programming.
