NRL’s client based in Tipton are looking to recruit a Pipefitting Instructor/Assessor for their Tipton office on a staff permanent basis.

About the role:

  • To monitor, coach and assess learners, including pre-employment assessment and testing. To support both internal training delivery and external delivery.
  • Ensure that value is delivered from learning whilst seeking ways to reduce costs where practicable.
  • To drive completion of tasks, and achievement of deadlines.
  • Align the taught courses with site works and the curriculum to best improve the learners potential.
  • Carryout assessing and coaching of apprentices and adult learners
  • To promote equality and diversity throughout all aspects of the training centre.
  • To deal with conflict and challenging behaviours and bring resolution to situations.
  • To demonstrate enthusiasm, stamina and a positive approach to all aspects of the role.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and to stay abreast with
  • developments within the field.
  • To have a thorough understanding of the training sectors under their control and site
  • applications associated.
  • To have a thorough understanding of the site requirements and the learners capability
  • upon leaving Tipton.
  • To support the deliverable trade testing and assessment function.
  • Ensuring compliance to all awarding body and customer contract obligations
  • Ensure all aspects of the apprentice learning are completed timely including logbook
  • verification.
  • To support commercial training opportunities i.e. Apprenticeships & Technical Testing.
  • Provide accurate feedback on learner abilities and skills for site deployment and
  • tasks.
  • Identify training needs and quality improvements to enhance the training department’s
  • delivery.

What will you need?

  • Experience working in a craft trade/site role and an auditable level of experience and competence. This experience in the relevant sectors which should include at least 2 of the following examples; Nuclear, Petrochemical, Oil and Gas, Pharmaceutical, or Thermal
  • Trade specific level 3 qualification
  • Management level 3 qualification
  • Teaching/instructor experience.
  • Experience or qualification in coaching/mentoring.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good literary & IT skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and respond to short notice needs.
