Working with a global leader in engineering, project and programme management within the nuclear industry, NRL are looking to recruit a Process Engineer. This is an office-based role in Bristol either Aztec West or Glass Wharf in a hybrid working capacity.

About the Opportunity

Energy Power Programmes are delivering client-critical works to some of our major UK and European projects. Our clients embedded teams are providing support to Hinkley Point C (new build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small Modular Reactor) capability, and working towards building Poland's first energy power station.

As the Process Engineer, you will play a key role within the Fluid Systems team, providing technical leadership and oversight on the design and integration of process systems supporting Hinkley Point C’s operation. Using your engineering knowledge, problem-solving ability, and communication skills to steer technical resolution, manage risk, and ensure safe and functional system designs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own and lead the system architecture for assigned Balance of Nuclear Island (BNI) fluid systems.
  • Provide expert-level guidance on system design, fluid mechanics, thermal-hydraulic modelling, and related technical topics.
  • Supervise and support system engineers on design queries, calculations, technical direction, and quality assurance.
  • Perform technical checking of system deliverables, design changes, and documentation.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Mechanical or Process Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 5–10+ years of experience in systems engineering, ideally in a nuclear or large-scale industrial project environment.
  • Proven understanding of thermal-hydraulics, fluid mechanics, and process engineering design.
  • Familiarity with UK regulations and safety standards related to fluid systems or BNI systems.
