Our client is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support the delivery of their Shotton Mill Project in Deeside. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in fabrication and pipeline works, with a proven ability to lead quality assurance functions on major industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide operational leadership to on-site Quality Coordinators, Inspectors (across various disciplines), and Document Controllers.
- Conduct technical reviews of industry standards and client specifications; develop Project Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Manage the qualification process for new Welding Procedure Qualification Records (WPQRs) and Welder Qualifications.
- Implement and monitor KPIs and continuous improvement processes (PDCA cycle); conduct internal and external audits, as well as quality health checks on suppliers and subcontractors in line with client requirements.
- Oversee non-conformance reporting (NCRs), perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and facilitate lessons learned reviews.
- Expedite the preparation, review, and client approval of Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs) to meet project milestones.
- Proven experience in quality engineering within fabrication and pipeline environments.
- Strong understanding of welding qualifications and documentation standards.
- Familiarity with quality management systems, audit protocols, and NCR processes.
- Effective leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and meet tight project schedules.
