Lead Innovation. Engineer the Future.

NRL are recruiting a Senior HVAC Engineer on an initial 12-month contract (inside IR35) to support high-profile nuclear decommissioning projects in Warrington. This is your opportunity to bring your expertise to a technically complex environment—where your input will directly shape the safety and sustainability of legacy infrastructure.

This is your chance to:
  • Be on-site in Birchwood Park – where your technical leadership will drive real-world impact.
  • Deliver HVAC design excellence – across new systems and modifications in a highly regulated, safety-critical sector.
  • Act as a subject matter expert – supporting stakeholders and guiding multi-disciplinary teams with confidence.
  • Work hybrid – with 3 days a week in the office and the rest from home, offering flexibility and balance.
Your Role:

You’ll support the HVAC Capability team in delivering high-quality HVAC and Building Services designs for nuclear decommissioning projects. From concept through to detailed design, you’ll ensure compliance with nuclear standards, lead technical discussions, and provide assurance across all project phases. You’ll be client-facing, confident, and collaborative—able to influence and inspire across disciplines.

You’ll need to bring:
  • Proven experience in Building Services design within a consultancy environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems—ideally with exposure to nuclear standards and safety processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive, inquisitive mindset with a passion for engineering excellence.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Join a high-impact programme with a leading engineering consultancy.
