We are looking for a Senior Maintenance Electrician to join an engineering team based in Billingham, Teesside. 

General Summary:

  • Position is responsible for the Provision & Supervision of Electrical Services, ensuring tasks are completed accurately in a timely manner. 

  • Reporting to the M&E Manager / Supervisor. Have technical skills in order to plan, complete, supervise personnel and sub-contract works for planned and reactive maintenance to ensure the Compliance and Reliability of site Electrical Services.

  • Electrical services to be provided to ensure compliance within the Quality System and Health and Safety policies.  Compliance Inspections to be recorded. 

Role Requirements:

  • Provide Electrical planned and responsive maintenance and supervision of Electricians and Compliance tasks. 

  • Health & Safety – Delivery of Tool Box Talks, daily task reporting and review H&S requirements of all tasks responsible for. Where required review and assist in the production of Risk Assessments & Method Statements or ‘Take 5’ Pre-Task Risk Assessment.  Monitoring of tasks to ensure compliance to HSE Legislation and local H&S Policies

  • Provide, co-ordinate and supervise works as detailed:

    • Lighting – internal & external

    • Fire alarm systems – testing, maintenance & isolations

    • Emergency lighting

    • Portable Appliance Testing

    • Minor new works, repairs and isolations

    • Meter readings - site utilities

    • Access control, CCTV & intruder systems

    • Tannoy systems

    • Lightning protection systems

    • Disabled refuge/toilet alarms

    • Fixed wiring inspections

    • LV switchgear inspections

    • Electrical vehicle charging

    • Catering equipment

  • Co-ordinate external contractors working.

  • Review and document 3rd Party Risk Assessments & Method Statements, co-ordinate Permit to Work and monitor works.

  • Proactively check all facilities during works for damage and report to Helpdesk for repair

  • Ensure continuous development of processes in line with customer demands and legislation

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing for staff and visitors – maintaining appropriate risk assessments as required

  • Co-ordinates team member holidays in a manner that does not negatively impact necessary daily functions and Client requirements

  • Performs other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by Management in a timely manner with high attention to detail and accuracy


Skill Requirements:

  • Work in an organised manner, problem solving within the scope of the position

  • Supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments to meet organisational timelines

  • Supervise M&E team in absence/ holiday cover of supervisor.

  • Provide proactive solution ensure continuous improvements

  • Ensure 5S solution are provided in your working area

  • Identify, evaluate, solve problems, correct actions, and to develop processes.

  • Communicate effectively in person, on telephone and by electronic means

  • Provide effective reports to management

  • Effective use Microsoft Software, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
