To commercially manage all aspects of the Quantity Surveying function from Procurement through to Final Account agreement on a contract, on numerous projects.
Key Accountabilities:
Internal
• Work in partnership with site management, commercially supporting sites as required, to develop a proactive site team. Ensuring that contractual obligations are identified and administered.
• Preparing the Construction Budget to present to the Commercial Director.
• Monitor the Construction Budget on a regular basis and report to Commercial Director
• Collate month end invoicing schedules and assist credit control in the timely collection of cash
• Produce monthly CVR and agree with Commercial Director
• Ensure that site files are properly set up and maintained in accordance with QA procedures
• Prepare and locate Archive Store once a contract is complete
• Provide commercial support to other aspects of the business such as maintenance and product sales
• Ensure that all relevant weekly records, for the purpose of producing proper monthly accounts, are produced and issued to accounts
• Assist in the economic employment of directly employed resources, identifying from weekly review of time sheets, the recovery of additional works.
Contract
• Prepare and agree interim valuations. Obtain interim certificate
• Raise invoice for payment and ensure Employer process payments in accordance with the contract
• Monitor with site team all change orders issued, all CVI’s required and any other form of change/instruction
• Agree with relevant parties the value of all changes in a timely manner
• Prepare all necessary notices of delays caused and issue such notices in accordance with the contract
• Assist in the preparation of extension of time applications and associated Loss & Expense
• Agree Final Account
Subcontract
• Prepare subcontract procurement packages, send out, receive back, approve and appoint all subcontractors required for the works
• Evaluate interim payments based upon the measurement of works completed on site
• Issue relevant notifications of payment and advise accounts of payments due to subcontractors
• Notify and agree costs of all changes and instructions
• Prepare set off notices as required by the subcontract and administer the set off provisions
• Agree Final Accounts with subcontractors
Knowledge:
• Proven experience of working in related D&B or similar commercial environment
• Good commercial acumen
• Contractually aware and experienced in using various standard
• Experienced with resolving difficult or disputed accounts to finality
• Proven experience of working in related D&B or similar commercial environment
• Contractually aware and experienced in using various standard forms
• Understanding of applying and working to defined contractual and commercial procedures
