NRL are currently recruiting for a professional Stores Operative to store, control and Issue parts to support production in a timely and professional manner. This is working for one of our leading defence clients in Walsall on a temp to perm basis. You will be required to work 40 hours per week 08:00 - 17:00 (Mon-Thu) 08:00 - 14:00 (Fri)

Key Objectives / Accountability:
Responsible for accurate execution of all stores tasks and to support the operation of Stores including but not limited to:
  • The issuing of parts from stores to Authorised personnel by approved methods in a timely safe and professional manner.
  • The accurate and timely booking out of parts.
  • Maintenance of the security of stores by ensuring that all gates remain locked and un-authorised persons within the stores area are challenged and if necessary reported to the Stores Manager.
  • Referral of stock discrepancies and potential shortages to the t Stores Manager and other relevant parties (i.e. Runner, Supervisor, Ordering Manager) as indicated by the Stores Manager.
  • To attend to requests from shop floor personnel in an appropriate timely and professional manner, and when unable to attend to refer personnel to the Stores Manager for further attention.
  • To ensure that the stores area is kept clean tidy and organised at all times.
  • To ensure that parts are correctly located and that the stores racking is clearly and correctly identified.
  • To carry out and perform rotational stock takes.
  • To support the goods inwards function when requested by the Stores Manager or other Production Managers.
  • To work with other departments to ensure the Yard is kept in a clean and tidy manner
  • To manage their time to ensure that all the above tasks are completed with due care in a courteous, timely, safe and professional manner.
  • To assist the Stores Manager in maintaining the other stores activities when requested.

Person Specification
Experience:
  • Experience of Warehousing / Stores
  • Experience of Stock Control
Skills/Knowledge/Competencies:
  • Able to write reports
  • Able to liaison with internal departments and line mangers
  • Excellent attention to detail
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to develop and maintain good internal relationships.
    • Ability to act as a credible representative of the company to external parties.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve desired results.
    • Experience of working in an automotive / engineering environment is desirable
 Qualifications:
  • Educated to G.C.S.E. / HNC standard or equivalent
  • Full Clean Driving License
