Fort Augustus
Fort Augustus is a village in the Highlands of Scotland. It lies at the eastern end of the Caledonian Canal and on the shores of Loch Ness, it is within the parish of Abernethy. It is surrounded by woodlands and mountains with views of the surrounding countryside, Loch Ness, Loch Oich and Inverness.
The engineering sector in Fort Augustus is a thriving part of the local economy. It covers a very wide range of industries, such as electronics and electrical engineering, transportation, mechanical and product design and marine engineering.
Transport in and around Fort Augustus is easy, thanks to its proximity to the main roads. It lies just off the A82 road which links the Highlands with Inverness, the Forth Road Bridge and central Scotland.
