Middlesbrough
Middlesbrough is a large industrial town in North Yorkshire on the southern bank of the River Tees. It has a population of around 150,000. Middlesbrough is a cultural town with a strong musical heritage and is home to popular art galleries and theatres. Middlesbrough is only a short drive away from the North Yorkshire Moors and is very close to the coastline where there is access to lovely sandy beaches and flat promenades.
Middlesbrough was once at the forefront of steelmaking and shipbuilding but due to the decline of these industries the digital sector has emerged. Middlesbrough also remains prevalent in the engineering sector with the development of the Tees Advanced Manufacturing Park, a new base for innovative advanced manufacturing companies.
Middlesbrough’s main railway station is only a 5 minute walk from the city centre and has easy access to many locations including Leeds, York, Newcastle and Manchester. It is also accessible via the M6, M62, A66 and the A19.
