NRL’s client has a Long term opportunity for a Project Manager in Ulverston in the Pharmaceutical industry.

This is a long term contract position offered on a PAYE or Umbrella basis.

About the role:

  • Perform tasks as directed by Client Capital Projects lead on site
  • Ability to work on complex, multi-faceted projects independently and take accountability for ensuring delivery
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to meet their requirements (e.g. Production, Engineering, EHS)
  • Producing project proposals, feasibility studies, concept design and cost estimates for approval
  • Approval of work scopes, job packs, commissioning procedures etc
  • Supervision of multi-discipline design/engineering teams and contractors
  • Establishing and maintaining detailed project plans
  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities and resolving problems.
  • Project reporting on cost and schedule adherence
  • Bid evaluations and vendor liaison
  • Ensure full compliance with Clients processes and procedures


What you will need:

  • Minimum Qualifications
  • HNC/HND in related engineering discipline
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Engineering Degree (Mechanical or Chemical)
  • Significant and appropriate experience in a mechanical/electrical engineering pharmaceutical EPC environment
  • Track record in role of Project manager or supporting project role in executing multi-disciplined EPC projects from inception through completion
  • Negotiation and control of external equipment and services suppliers and contractors
  • Record of site management experience of multi-disciplined site construction, plant installation, testing and commissioning of project work
  • Knowledge of the principles of the Company Quality Policy and Business Operating Procedures in order to execute/complete projects, deliver Customer satisfaction and achieve or improve profit targets
  • Understanding of Project Management issues and effective use of all PM tools and techniques
  • Commercial awareness
  • Ability to organise and communicate
  • Ability to evaluate technical and contractual information
  • Understanding of Project Risk and risk management
  • Team leadership / team building technique
  • Knowledge of need to evaluate, develop and improve existing practices to improve project performance and increase benefit
