Quantity Surveyor- Reading, Hybrid Working

NRL are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of the financial and commercial management of assigned engineering projects for our esteemed client. This is a fantastic opportunity for a global and cutting edge business shaping the future of defence. You’ll be joining a forward-thinking team committed to innovation, operational excellence and strategic collaboration.  This role includes maximising profitability and cash flow and overseeing valuations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Taking a lead on key, long term projects.
  • Shape and manage subcontract strategy using NEC suite contracts.
  • Manage day to day commercial activities on assigned projects.
  • Maximise project profitability.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and the supply chain, ensuring a professional level of communication is always met.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure compliance with company procedures and integrated project delivery.
  • Providing commercial support to maximise the performance on all projects
  •  Provide Senior commercial support and development of junior members of the team
Requirements

  • Proven experience in the commercial arena.
  • Degree qualified (preferred)
  • Experience in subcontract management.
  • Solid NEC3/4 experience.
  • Strong financial reporting, cost forecasting and valuation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and develop a team and to manage complex subcontract accounts.
  • Solid understanding of contract administration and change management.
  • Professional, fair, and positive approach to all project stakeholders.
