NRL are currently recruiting for an experienced Retail Assistant to work for one of our leading clients based at Faslane, Helensburgh. This is will working on a contract basis. You will be required to work 20 hours per week with the rotas agreed two weeks in advance. 

Summary:
  • Dealing with c 100-150 customers per day (depending on retail outlet).
  • Supporting c 20-30 promotional events per annum.
  • Cash handling to the value of c £8,000 per week.
  • Service to be provided day, evening and weekends (hours depending on retail outlet)
About The Role:
  • Responsible for advising customers and promoting the sale of goods to increase revenue, including Post Office services, hot/cold foo, tobacco products and alcohol, refusing sale to persons who cannot legally purchase it
  • Operation of Electronic Point of Sales (EPOS) terminals and/or cash registers for sales and refunds, collection and sign out float and reconciliation of cash/credit transactions, reporting any anomalies to the Duty Retail Coordinator.
  • Manage all stock within the retail outlets to ensure it is stored correctly and attractively, rotated and stock count / date checked to minimise wastage and requesting stock as required.
  • Preparation, cooking and serving of hot / cold food and beverages as required for each retail outlet.
  • Conduct all relevant hot / cold equipment and cooked food temperature checks, clean and maintain all retail outlet areas and equipment to required hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with relevant Food Hygiene, COSHH and Health and Safety Legislation or policies.
  • Collection / delivery of stock from appropriate stores or suppliers as required, including escorting deliveries.
  • Report any defects identified using the appropriate process and ensure waste is removed from the retail outlets and placed in appropriate bins.
  • No Line Management responsibility, however on occasion responsibility may be delegated from the Duty Retail Coordinator in their absence.
What You Will Need:
  • You will need to be able to obtain security clearance and will be put through this prior to a start. 
  • Previous retail experience is essential 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of Safety, Fire, Environment & Health Legislation, including Food Hygiene,
  • Experienced in Cash handling.
  • Experience of stock management.
  • Experience in operating Electronic Point of Sale systems
