Kingston Upon Thames
Kingston Upon Thames is a historic old town with a population of around 173,000. It’s home to England’s oldest Royal Botanic gardens and has a strong dining scene, with a host of restaurants including the finest Michelin-starred eateries in London. As well as green spaces and plenty of picturesque sights, there’s also excellent nightlife.
Kingston Upon Thames is just 30 minutes from London. The borough has a wide range of public transport links, including National Rail, London Underground, London Overground and a major bus station. You can quickly reach Kingston from London by train or bus, while there are also regular Thames Clipper commuter services to central London via the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.
In recent years, there has been an increased focus on engineering in Kingston Upon Thames. The city has always had a large manufacturing base, though in recent years the service industry has grown significantly.
