Mechanical Fitter​

As a Mechanical Fitter you’ll play an important part in ensuring equipment is in good working order, whilst usually supporting with various maintenance programmes. Mechanical Fitters work across a wide range of industry sectors including engineering, defence, infrastructure, power generation and the built environment. Mechanical fitters must be able to work to H&S legislation on-site, following Safe Systems of Work and control processes. Duties a Mechanical Fitter will need to complete can include identification and rectification of all system, manufacture, defects and alterations. Undertaking preventative maintenance plans by drawing on their mechanical knowledge.

Mechanical Fitters often hold an apprentice or qualified trades qualification including CCNSG, SVQ, NVQ or City & Guilds. To work on some projects Mechanical Fitters may need to hold up to date CTC clearance or other relevant security clearance checks.
