CDM Advisor – Staff Position

Location: Glasgow (Hybrid Working)

Type: Full-time, Permanent

We’re currently seeking an experienced CDM Advisor to join a dynamic engineering and consultancy team based in Glasgow city centre. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated professional to play a key role in delivering major projects across the UK and Republic of Ireland, with a strong focus on health and safety compliance and client collaboration.

This is a staff position with hybrid working arrangements – 3 days in the Glasgow office and 2 days working from home, with occasional travel to project sites (approximately 3 times per month).

The Role As a CDM Advisor, you’ll be responsible for supporting the delivery of safe, compliant, and innovative infrastructure projects. Reporting to the Engineering and CDM Compliance Lead for EMEA, you’ll work closely with clients, internal design teams, and project delivery teams to fulfil duties under CDM 2015 regulations, including acting as Principal Designer where required. You may also support the Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) duties in the Republic of Ireland.


Key Responsibilities

  • Fulfil duties of Principal Designer under CDM 2015.

  • Support clients by advising on health and safety matters during the pre-construction phase.

  • Coordinate and communicate health and safety information between design teams and contractors.

  • Review and manage pre-construction information and support development of health and safety files.

  • Engage collaboratively with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance across project phases.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience in the construction industry with a focus on CDM and health & safety.

  • In-depth knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations and relevant UK/Irish legislation.

  • Demonstrated experience acting as CDM Advisor and Principal Designer on large-scale energy or industrial projects.

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, plus NEBOSH Construction Certificate.

  • IMaPS (Incorporated Member of the Association for Project Safety).

  • Full, clean UK driving licence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH), or working towards.

  • PSDP qualifications (Ireland).

  • Experience within the energy sector.

  • Working knowledge of engineering design deliverables and construction practices.
