Role Purpose
As a Project Engineer (Electrical) within the Data Centre division, you will play a key role in delivering mission-critical infrastructure. You will manage the electrical engineering aspects of hyperscale and edge data centre projects, ensuring systems are designed, installed, and commissioned to meet stringent performance, reliability, and uptime requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Technical Coordination
- Interpret and review electrical designs for data centre power systems including HV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, and BMS integration.
- Collaborate with design consultants and internal teams to ensure compliance with Tier standards (Uptime Institute), client specifications, and industry best practices.
- Support value engineering initiatives to optimize performance and cost.
Project Delivery
- Oversee electrical installation works including containment, cabling, switchgear, and critical systems.
- Monitor progress and ensure alignment with project timelines and commissioning schedules.
- Conduct FAT/SAT testing and support integrated systems testing (IST).
- Provide technical input during client meetings and design reviews.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure all electrical works comply with BS7671, IEC standards, and local regulations.
- Maintain documentation including test certificates, commissioning reports, and red-line drawings.
Health & Safety
- Promote “Work Safe : Work Smart” culture across all electrical activities.
- Participate in risk assessments and ensure safe working practices on site.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- 1-3 years of Experience in electrical engineering within data centre or critical infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of HV/LV systems, UPS, generators, and power redundancy strategies.
- Experience with commissioning and IST processes.
- Familiarity with BIM tools (e.g., Revit, Navisworks) is a plus.
