NRL are currently recruiting for a Document Controller to work with an engineering consultancy in Milton Keynes supporting the East West Rail project. This is on a 6 month contract.

About the role:

Develop and ensure the delivery of the company document management system, and associate electronic document management systems (EDMS), to budget and to other agreed success criteria within EWR Co. guidelines.

As Document Controller you will:
  • Administer all aspects of the company Integrated Management System (IMS);
  • Be responsible for managing large volumes of incoming and outgoing records in line with the company standards;
  • Liaise with functional teams to maintain suitable document control systems, procedures and standards, including generation of templates etc.;
  • Develop and maintain all aspects of document control procedures, systems and plans processes including scanning, indexing, file uploading and transferring, archiving, retention and disposal arrangements;
  • Issue controlled copies of documents to different internal and external stakeholders, managing all elements of associated workflows;
  • Maintaining data on drawing registers and other critical technical and safety-related records;
  • Identify and implement documentation management-related quality and efficiency improvement initiatives;
  • Collate requirements for external standards documentation and undertake purchasing etc. requirements as appropriate;
  • Co-operate with EWR Co. in all matters relating to health and safety, including following safe working procedures at all times;
  • Act as a role model for EWR Co.’s vision and values, behaving in ways that are in alignment with EWR Co.’s Ways of Working, encouraging and supporting others to do so in addition;
What you will need:
  • Excellent IT literacy, verbal and written communications skills;
  • Experience of document management in complex organisations liaising with a diverse range of departments and organisations;
  • Experience on client-side of major infrastructure project(s) would be an asset;
  • Experience and sound knowledge of Aconex, SharePoint and Office 365;
  • Knowledge of ProjectWise would be an asset, but not essential;
  • Working knowledge of other propriety document control/EDMS;
  • Excellent relationship management, people skills and presentation skills with an ability to work effectively as part of a team;
  • UK rail industry and/or capital programme knowledge and experience is an advantage.
