An exciting opportunity has arisen for a capable and hands-on Electrical Engineer to join a fast-paced and dynamic engineering group that delivers high-performance energy and power systems across a range of sectors. This is a pivotal position within the business, offering the opportunity to take full ownership of electrical design and delivery across a wide range of commercial and industrial projects.

This role is a field based role Monday to Friday around the Central Belt. The office for your base hub will be in Milgavie, Glasgow.

Key Responsibilities:
System Design & Scoping

  • Conduct site surveys and develop electrical designs for LV and (where applicable) HV systems.

  • Define scopes of work and produce concept designs to support pre-sales activity and proposal development.

  • Assist in specifying electrical equipment and developing pricing proposals in collaboration with estimating and solutions teams.

Project Delivery Support

  • Finalise and refine electrical designs for live projects, including cable sizing, protection settings, and equipment selection.

  • Provide technical input to support project delivery, procurement, and installation teams.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare and maintain key technical documents: single-line diagrams (SLDs), cable schedules, control philosophies, and system descriptions.

  • Manage and submit G99/G100 applications and ensure all designs comply with relevant UK electrical regulations and standards.

  • Develop test plans and commissioning documentation to ensure safe and compliant system handover.

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Attend internal and external design meetings, including technical discussions with clients, suppliers, and DNOs.

  • Act as the go-to electrical contact across all project stages, supporting colleagues across multiple departments.

Onsite Technical Involvement

  • Provide on-site support during key phases such as installation and commissioning.

  • If qualified, carry out HV switching operations; alternatively, manage third-party contractors for HV works.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in electrical system design and delivery (LV and HV).

  • Strong knowledge of cable sizing, protection coordination, and general electrical system layout.

  • Familiarity with UK grid interface standards, including G99/G100 applications.

  • Ability to create and interpret technical drawings such as SLDs, schematics, and layout plans.

  • Comfortable working independently across multiple concurrent projects.

  • Strong commercial awareness with a practical, solutions-oriented mindset.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drawing tools.

  • HV SAP (Senior Authorised Person) status desirable but not essential.
