Our client, a global leader in operational readiness and excellence for life sciences and mission-critical industries, is seeking an experienced HVAC Design Engineer to join our team at the Alexion manufacturing site. This role focuses on the design and optimization of HVAC systems for a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment, ensuring compliance with GMP standards and supporting critical manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop HVAC systems for cleanrooms and controlled environments in compliance with cGMP, FDA, and EU regulatory standards.
Perform load calculations, airflow analysis, and energy modeling to ensure optimal system performance.
Select and specify HVAC equipment, materials, and components suitable for pharmaceutical applications.
Collaborate with architects, process engineers, and project teams to integrate HVAC systems into facility layouts.
Prepare technical documentation, including P&IDs, specifications, and validation protocols.
Support commissioning, qualification, and validation activities for HVAC systems.
Ensure adherence to ASHRAE, ISPE, and other relevant industry guidelines.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
5+ years of HVAC design experience, preferably in pharmaceutical or biotech facilities.
Strong knowledge of cleanroom classifications, HEPA filtration, and environmental control strategies.
Familiarity with GMP requirements, ISO 14644, and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in HVAC design software and AutoCAD/Revit.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
