ICT/Security Engineer - Germany / Spain

Role Overview:

As an ICT/Security Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of ICT and electronic security systems within hyperscale and enterprise data centre environments. You will be responsible for overseeing the installation, commissioning, and integration of ICT infrastructure and security systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Commissioning:
    Overseeing the installation and commissioning of ICT equipment, including network infrastructure, servers, storage systems, and other related hardware.

  • Testing and Verification:
    Conducting thorough functional testing to ensure all ICT systems operate as intended, verifying redundancy and failover mechanisms.

  • Documentation:
    Creating and maintaining detailed documentation, including test plans, procedures, and reports, to support the commissioning process and ensure compliance with industry standards.

  • Compliance:
    Ensuring all work adheres to safety regulations, quality standards, and project requirements.

  • Coordination:
    Collaborating with other engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of ICT systems with other data center infrastructure.

  • Troubleshooting:
    Identifying and resolving technical issues during the commissioning phase, working with vendors and specialists to ensure timely resolution.

  • Training:
    Providing guidance and training to operations teams on the proper operation and maintenance of the ICT infrastructure.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in ICT infrastructure and/or electronic security systems within data centre or critical infrastructure environments.

  • Strong understanding of structured cabling, networking, access control, and CCTV systems.

  • Familiarity with commissioning processes (e.g., Cx Levels 1–5).

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Excellent documentation and reporting skills.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder coordination abilities.

  • Willingness to travel to project sites across the UK and Europe.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or vendor-specific security system training (e.g., Lenel, Genetec, Milestone).

  • Experience with BMS, EMS, or integration with other building systems.

  • Knowledge of data centre standards (e.g., Uptime Institute, TIA-942).
