NRL are recruiting for a CNC Machinist on behalf of one of our large clients based in Warrington on an initial 12-month contract. The Machinist is required to assist in manufacture of bespoke test rigs for a number of industries, predominantly nuclear. 


Key responsibilities:

  • Manufacture of bespoke components to be used on development rigs, specialist tooling or supplied direct to customers. 

  • Interpretation of drawings supplied by engineers and clients to develop the best practice to produce the items shown. 

  • Assembly of finished components and assisting in the fabrication section as workload demands. 

  • Working with engineers to solve problems and identify potential improvements. 

  • Control of own quality and inspection of work by other machinists including recording of all appropriate data. 

  • Lead by example and follow HS&S procedures. 


What you will need:

  • Skilled in the operation of conventional machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines, surface.  

  • grinders and hand tools. 

  • Skilled in the operation of CNC milling machines and lathes, including programming. 

  • Skilled in the operation of wire EDM machines and their programming. 

  • Manage own time to meet deadlines including overtime working when required. 

  • Ensuring that all housekeeping is kept to a high standard. 

  • Attending training courses as necessary to perform role.

  • Ability to gain security clearance.
