This role will be based on an Offsite Manufacturing Facility. The successful candidate will be expected to confidently report maintenance issues and may be required to attend designated meetings. Applicants should demonstrate strong leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and support team members, communicate clearly and effectively, make informed decisions under pressure, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. The role also requires a hands-on approach to preventative maintenance on machinery, in alignment with our maintenance compliance plan, while working collaboratively with the production team, and maintaining a productive working environment is essential.
You will report directly to the Maintenance Manager.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform diverse tasks to install, maintain, and repair production machines and facility equipment.
- Record and report weekly KPIs, including equipment OEE, PPM, and unplanned maintenance requests, to the Senior Supervisor.
- Engage with suppliers and raise purchase orders for maintenance department expenses.
- Direct and delegate tasks to maintenance personnel.
- Report planned daily or weekly activities at production meetings, advising of potential production impacts.
- Maintain electronic records of all maintenance and repairs to machines and facilities.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean, orderly work areas (5S standards).
- Ensure all processes, procedures, and documentation comply with relevant ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Provide emergency or unscheduled repairs to production equipment during operation and perform scheduled maintenance.
- Apply mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic skills to troubleshoot and repair production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose issues, replace or repair parts, test equipment, and make necessary adjustments.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
- Detect faulty operations or defective materials and report them, along with any unusual situations, to the appropriate supervisor.
- Ability to perform all essential duties effectively.
- Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) Risk WOse and Field View
- 18th Edition Electrical Qualification (e.g., BS 7671 Wiring Regulations).
- NVQ, ONC, or HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
7.30am-4pm Monday to Thursday
7.30am-1pm Friday
Overtime as required
Rates of Pay: PAYE
Basic - £18.19 working rate + £2.43 HP = £20.62 total payable
OT1 - £24.19 working rate + £3.24 HP = £27.42 total payable
OT2 - £27.28 working rate + £3.65 HP = £30.93 total payable
