Mechanical Construction Supervisor

The NRL Group are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Construction Supervisor to join a large construction project carrying out the responsibility for the successful delivery of mechanical systems and infrastructure across the site. You will be responsible for overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of complex mechanical components, ensuring all works are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.

What will the role consist of?

 
  • Lead and supervise mechanical construction teams and subcontractors across designated work areas.
  • Ensure all mechanical works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Enforce strict compliance with nuclear safety protocols, site rules, and health & safety legislation (including CDM regulations).
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and ensure proper use of PPE and safe systems of work.
  • Coordinate daily and weekly work plans with site management, engineering, and logistics teams.
  • Interface with other disciplines (civil, electrical, commissioning) to ensure smooth integration of mechanical systems.
  • Monitor and inspect mechanical installations including pipework, pressure vessels, HVAC, and rotating equipment.
  • Ensure all work meets nuclear quality standards and is documented appropriately for audit and regulatory review.
  • Track construction progress against schedule and report deviations or delays to the Construction Manager.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, and resource usage records.
  • Provide technical guidance to site teams and resolve construction-related issues in collaboration with engineering.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Manage permit-to-work systems and ensure all required documentation is in place before work begins.
  • Maintain records of inspections, test results, and handover documentation.
  • Assist in mechanical system testing and commissioning activities, ensuring readiness for operational handover.
  • Support punch list resolution and final acceptance processes.
  • Liaise with client representatives, regulators, and third-party inspectors as required.
  • Represent the mechanical team in site coordination meetings and progress reviews.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost savings, and enhanced safety performance.
  • Promote a culture of learning, accountability, and excellence within the mechanical team.
 
 
Qualifications 
  • Engineering or bachelor’s degree
  • CSCS or equivalent safety certification.
 
Professional Experience:
 
  • Experience in working in construction site for at least 2 complete projects in Construction Supervisor role
  • Proven experience in mechanical supervision on large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects
  • Experience and knowledge in the use of MS office (word, excel, power point), Adobe Professional, Nero
