Nrl are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Engineer (Mechanical) Required to deliver work packages across various system scopes relating to MSSS at Sellafield, including SEP 3, in a wide variety of mechanical  problem solving scenarios. Please note this role is Risley and Sellafield Site Based and deemed inside IR35. This will be on an ongoing contract basis for one of our leading clients within the nuclear industry. 

What You Will Need:
Essential:
  • CEng/IEng status
  • Experienced in delivering fit for purpose mechanical design solutions to cost and schedule
  • Ability to break down a problem/issue into constituent parts and present options for resolution
  • Able to contribute to the production of, deliver to, and report on plans of work
  • Able to communicate both verbally and in writing with a variety of stakeholders
  • Has a working knowledge and understanding of regulations relevant to the delivery of machinery (SOMSR 2008, CDM, PUWER, LOLER etc.)
  • Is familiar with engineering drawings (including checking) and standards relevant to their production e.g. BS 8888 & GPS
  • Can review, understand and challenge conventional engineering calculations in accordance with BS 2573 or similar standards
  • SC level clearance to allow unescorted access on the Sellafield site
  • Local to Cumbria or willing to travel to the Sellafield Site on a regular basis (multiple days a week but not standard/specific days, based on workload)
Desirable:
  • Ability and evidence of applying engineering judgement to make evidence and risk-based decisions
  • Experience of creating manufacturing specifications and supporting manufacturing queries/issues
  • Experience in the production of EO packs and supporting component Quality Requirements
  • Experience in the production of Technical Files and accompanying deliverables and familiar with the EHSRs
  • Experience in production and/or checking of design substantiation and Safety Case deliverables
  • Previous experience of working on the Sellafield Site and/or access into Separation area
  • Experience of Commissioning and Works Testing /FAT activities
  • Experience in the design and selection of accessories for Lifting operations
