Mechanical Superintendent

Project: El Morell

Duration: 12 months

Location: Tarrogona, Spain

Must have driving licence and own car, as no public transport available to site

5 days per week


Requirements:

BSc in Mechanical Engineering/Engineering. Other certifications will also be considered in case candidate experience is deemed relevant to the project.

  • 10 -15 years’ progressive experience in similar role/industry

  • Demonstrable experience of managing direct labour

  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation, codes and standards with the ability to manage contractors.

  • Recent on-shore Petrochemical and Oil & Gas experience. Desirable experience on ASU Plants

  • Computer literate (MS Office components)

  • Desirable knowledge of GoCompletions at a user level.

  • Excellent communication skills. Excellent English (spoken and written), Spanish

  • To be available within 2 weeks (max) after being selected.

  • Must be familiar with NDE requirements, Weld Mapping and Material Traceability

  • Must be able to read & understand weld symbols, weld procedures, mechanical and structural drawings.

  • Flexible and adaptable to working schedule in order to support project needs.

Terms & Conditions:

1) Compensation:

  • Worker will be paid a daily rate which includes and covers all expenses, with the exception of those specifically defined in these terms and conditions.

  • Compensations for travel expense are specified under point 4.

2) Working Hours:

  • Normal working hours are 9 hours per day and may be more on request, in which the provider shall be present at project site, available for work. Working hours are as per client request.

  • Overtime work (as additional days) will be paid in full, if client has given his prior request or approval for the overtime work, and if within the limits of applicable labour laws.

  • Working outside project location ( “working from home”) is only allowed only after prior agreement with the Site Manager.

  • Absence due to illness or family circumstances or time required to obtain visa/residence permits/professional (re-)qualifications cannot be claimed.

3) Work schedule:

  • Work schedule is 5 working days per week from Monday to Friday. Client can request for weekend work within the limits of applicable labour laws.

  • Worker can request for any (unpaid) leave, at least 1 week in advance. The maximum duration of leave in any one period should be 2 weeks unless agreed by the Project Manager and Hiring Manager.

4) Travel cost and travel time:

  • Travel for daily commuting between project site and accommodation, home or vacation cannot be claimed and must be done outside working hours.

  • Travel expense for company-requested business trips will be fully reimbursed.
