Job Opportunity: Plant Operator – Walkden (3-Month Contract)

We’re looking for a reliable and experienced Plant Operator to join our clients team in the Walkden area on a 3-month contract basis.

Contract Details:

  • Location:Walkden, Manchester
  • Duration: 3 months
  • Hours: 39 hours per week
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
Key Requirements:
  • Must hold a valid FLT (Forklift Truck) licence
  • Prior experience working on a chemical plant 
  • Minimum of GCSEs or equivalent qualifications required
  • Must be computer literate
  • Full training will be provided
Job Responsibilities:
  • Operate filling equipment including electrical motors, cryogenic and non-cryogenic pumps
  • Handle and load cylinders using a forklift
  • Ensure all documentation is accurately and permanently recorded
  • Perform analysis of product pre- and post-filling to meet specifications
  • Receive and inspect incoming product
  • Raise operational concerns that could impact production or product purity
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, and G.M.B/G.M.A. guidelines
Principal Accountabilities:
  • Maintain safe and efficient operations across plant systems
  • Handle, inspect, clean, paint, and label cylinders
  • Perform minor cylinder repairs
  • Report faults, maintain hygiene and wear PPE in designated areas
  • Complete all quality records and carry out calibration checks
  • Report any non-conforming products
Equipment Involved:
  • Industrial pumps, vaporizers, manifolds, gas analysers
  • Forklift trucks and cylinder handling systems
  • Computerised controls and analytical instruments
  • Cryogenic and non-cryogenic gas filling systems
