On behalf of or client, NRL are recruiting for a Principle Surveyor for work based in the Milton Keynes area.

Duration:    8 months contract
Location:   Milton Keynes MK9 1EN
Hours:  Full Time
Hybrid: 2 days in the Office, 3 days working from home.

Duties and responsibilities (not restricted to):
  • Manage consultation and engagement with landowners and representatives
  • Manage suppliers to meet agreed timescales, cost, budget, and governance processes where necessary initiating corrective actions
  • Maintain property cost estimate and registers of land and property risks, issues, and opportunities, working with the EWR risk team and use professional knowledge to advise on risk mitigation
  • Report on progress and quality of key land and property deliverables
  • Manage land and property held by the project ahead of construction and operation
  • Take responsibility of your own and others’ health and safety by adopting and working to the EWR Co Health and Safety principles.
  • Demonstrates a cost-conscious mindset, keeping taxpayers’ money at the forefront of decisions.
  • Shows a commitment to innovation by proactively seeking creative solutions to challenges and opportunities.
  • Act as a role model for EWR Co’s vision and behaviours, working in ways that are aligned with EWR Co’s Ways of Working, as well as encouraging and supporting others to do so too.
Preferred Experience and skills:
  • Acquisition of land by compulsory purchase for linear infrastructure projects.
  • The drafting and approval of strategies and plans as a key step in understanding delivery.
  • Financial forecasting including Property Cost Estimates.
  • Working client side for a government related organisation, to secure delivery via suppliers and reporting internally to secure approvals.
  • Supporting procurement to tender work and on boarding suppliers and supporting contract managers to manage suppliers.
  • Supporting & securing support from internal teams of SMEs to deliver outcomes; working in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver an overall programme of activities to acquire, transfer, manage and dispose of land and property
  • Maintaining effective external relationships to understand stakeholders’ needs and priorities; including working with landowners to reach agreement on how their land can be used to support a project.
  • Explaining property matters and reports to others who may not have a background in property. Presenting data and explaining reports to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Using programmes to manage and drive delivery.
  • Experience in demonstrating compliance with Statutory, Regulatory and Professional requirements.

Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
RICS-Accredited Degree
Assessment of Professional Competence (APC)
Senior Professional Assessment (SPA)
