NRL are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Assistant to join our prestigious client on a fixed term contract for a minimum of 6 months with a view to becoming permanent.
Based in their office in Middlesbrough, the candidate will be required to support the Procurement Team and the business both commercially and financially.
Responsibilites:
- to place orders with suppliers via the SAP system
- to negotiate prices with Suppliers
- to administer SAP reports for the Business Units.
- to effectively organise workload to meet the demands of the business.
- to contribute towards meeting procurement objectives and targets.
- to work flexibly to meet the demands of the business.
- to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues in the procurement team
- to develop and maintain good Supplier relationships
- to ensure that all purchase orders contain all relevant and correct commercial information
- to process all PO s within 24hours.
- to deputise for Buyers where required.
- to undertake cost and price breakdown analysis
- to draft and prepare Tender documents
- to solve service and supply problems
- other duties as required
- an experienced SAP user
- at least 3 years’ experience working in a procurement team
- team working ability
- the ability to communicate proficiently both orally and written
- general ability to communicate at all levels
- to be numerate and literate
- to be a proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of tools
- to be able to use Microsoft Excel to a high standard
- to have Cost Analysis experience and capability
- to hold (or be undertaking) an NVQ in Purchasing or related discipline
- to hold (or be studying for) a Purchasing or Stores qualification
- to be proficient in the use of Microsoft Power point or Visio
- an understanding of basic legal principles for the formation of contracts
