Quality Assurance Engineer – Highways & Civil Infrastructure 

Location: M25 Junction 10

Contract Type: Short term contract until 14 Dec 2025

Are you passionate about maintaining high standards in civil engineering and infrastructure projects? We’re looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our client’s team and play a key role in ensuring quality compliance across major highways and civil infrastructure schemes.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile projects, collaborate with experienced site teams, and contribute to the delivery of safe, efficient, and compliant infrastructure.

 Key Responsibilities
  • Compile and maintain QA documentation including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), check sheets, and material certification.
  • Support site teams in verifying compliance with design drawings, specifications, and workmanship standards.
  • Liaise with engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure QA records are completed and submitted on time.
  • Conduct spot checks and visual inspections to validate quality compliance.
  • Record and track non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.
  • Assist in preparing QA documentation for handover and audits.
  • Ensure all QA records are accurately filed and traceable via systems like SharePoint or Asite.
 Skills & Experience Required
  • Background in highways or civil engineering QA (e.g., earthworks, drainage, structures, surfacing).
  • Familiarity with Highways England / National Highways specifications (SHW, IAN, DMRB).
  • Experience managing QA documentation on large infrastructure schemes.
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of construction quality processes.
  • CSCS card (minimum: Skilled Worker or higher).
Desirable
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Knowledge of M25 network operations and smart motorway standards.
  • Previous experience on major highways or junction improvement schemes.
