Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer

Location: Heysham (with UK-wide travel)

Salary: £55,000 – £70,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications)

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join our clients support team within a high-risk, regulated engineering environment. This role is based at our clients Heysham site, with travel required to other UK locations.

As a key member of the Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) team, you will provide expert guidance and leadership in quality assurance, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements. You will also play a vital role in promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support risk identification and management processes.

  • Promote a positive quality culture and raise awareness across teams.

  • Monitor and report on quality and safety performance, identifying trends and recommending improvements.

  • Develop and maintain audit and compliance programmes.

  • Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and support corrective actions.

  • Deliver or support quality-related training.

  • Conduct field-based quality control surveillances.

  • Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and contractors on quality planning.

  • Liaise with internal and external regulators on HSEQ matters.

  • Contribute to the development of company-wide quality assurance guidelines.

  • Deputise for the HSEQ Lead when required.

About You

  • Minimum HNC qualification.

  • NEBOSH and/or IOSH Managing Safely certification (desirable).

  • Proven experience in quality assurance within a high-risk, regulated industry (e.g. nuclear, heavy engineering).

  • Strong understanding of UK legislation and regulatory frameworks.

  • Skilled in auditing, compliance monitoring, and quality control.

  • Effective communicator with the ability to coach and influence at all levels.

  • Committed to promoting a safe and inclusive working environment.
