About the Role:
We are currently seeking a highly experienced Quality Manager to support a major programme within the UK nuclear sector. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for managing all quality aspects of a complex nuclear project, from inception through to delivery.

Working in one of the UK’s most regulated and safety-critical industries, you’ll lead the quality team to ensure rigorous standards are maintained across internal functions, contractors, and the wider supply chain. Your expertise will ensure regulatory compliance, reduce risk, and contribute to the successful delivery of a nationally significant project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of project-wide quality strategies within a nuclear-regulated environment.
  • Provide proactive quality management guidance, ensuring all project activities meet nuclear industry standards and client expectations.
  • Prepare and maintain quality plans, procedures, and project-specific quality documentation.
  • Review and approve supplier quality arrangements, ensuring alignment with nuclear safety and compliance requirements.
  • Drive a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement across the entire delivery team.
  • Manage and mentor quality personnel, ensuring consistency and high performance across the function.
  • Establish effective audit frameworks and conduct internal and supplier audits.
  • Manage non-conformances and investigations in line with regulatory and project-specific protocols.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and internal stakeholders to ensure quality expectations are clearly understood and met.
  • Support commercial teams with quality input for bids, tenders, and estimates.
  • Participate in key project reviews, procurement activities, and supplier assessments.
About You:
You are an experienced quality leader with a solid background in the nuclear industry or another highly regulated sector, capable of operating strategically in complex, multi-stakeholder project environments.

Skills and Experience:
  • Extensive experience in quality management roles on large-scale infrastructure or engineering projects, ideally nuclear.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 and UK nuclear quality standards and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of customer quality requirements and regulatory expectations in the nuclear sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive performance improvements.
  • Skilled in auditing, investigation, supplier assurance, and quality planning.
  • Proficient in producing reports and quality data to support decision-making.
Qualifications:
  • HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering or technical discipline.
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification.
  • Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) membership (or working towards).
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally overseas.
