Senior Telecoms Engineer – Oil & Gas / Engineering – Surrey
Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Telecom Engineer to join their team in Surrey. If you're passionate about delivering high-quality telecom solutions in the Oil & Gas / Energy sectors and thrive in a dynamic engineering environment, this could certainly be the role for you.
 
As a Senior Telecom Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:
  • Leading the preparation and review of engineering and design deliverables including drawings, cable schedules, specifications, datasheets, and BOMs.
  • Review vendor documents and quotations for compliance and support procurement activities.
  • Perform detailed engineering for field equipment such as CCTV cameras, speakers, call stations, turnstiles, road barriers, hotlines, and analogue telephones.
  • Conduct and review calculations for telecom systems including CCTV, PAGA, radio, and telephone lines.
  • Design and implement Telecom Network Architecture including block diagrams and interface layouts.
  • Participate in inter-discipline squad checks and shop inspections.
  • Support Telecom System FAT/SAT and site pre-commissioning activities.
  • Assist the Telecom Lead with project planning, scheduling, and control functions.
 
In terms of requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience in basic and detailed engineering within the Upstream Oil & Gas, Refinery, or Petrochemical industries.
  • Familiarity with international codes, standards, and best practices in telecommunications.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and vendor-specific software (e.g., CCTV, PAGA coverage tools, RF tools).
  • Strong understanding of telecom workflows, network architecture, and project deliverables.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • A proactive, client-focused mindset with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
