Job Title: Yard Labourer

Location: Walpole

Contract Type: Full-Time, Site-Based

Start Date: 26th August 2025

Duration: 6-month rolling contract (part of a 2-year project)

Overview: We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Yard Man / Labourer to join our team. You will be responsible for supporting daily site operations, maintaining welfare facilities, managing deliveries, and assisting with general housekeeping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of welfare facilities, including generators

  • Receive and escort deliveries on site

  • General housekeeping and site tidiness

  • Assist the site management team with daily tasks

  • Follow all health, safety, quality, and environmental policies (HSQE)

  • Carry out additional duties as instructed by site management

Working Hours
50 hours per week
– Monday to Friday: 10-hour shifts
– Occasional weekend work may be required

Pay Rates:

  • £15/hour – Monday to Friday

  • £18.75/hour – Saturday

  • £21/hour – Sunday

Essential Requirements:

  • Full UK Driving Licence

  • Valid CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport

  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors on uneven terrain for extended periods

  • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions

  • Ability to organise own travel and accommodation

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous experience working on substation or construction sites

  • National Grid Persons qualification

  • CPCS Vehicle Banksman ticket

Physical & Cognitive Requirements:

  • Ability to walk, stand, and lift items (up to 10 lbs) for extended periods

  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and making sound decisions

  • Able to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure

  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
