Candidates do not necessary need to have previous experience working in the engineering sector to successfully secure a Chef position, if they have operated in a kitchen before preparing food.

Key responsibilities include designing nutritious menus, sourcing ingredients, and supervising cooking processes to maintain strict quality and safety standards. As a Chef you’ll also need to support with supervision of the kitchen team and assist management with planning work rotas.

Companies looking to hire Chefs typically require candidates to have food safety certifications, previous experience (not necessarily in an industrial environment), strong communication and time-management skills. To work in this role as a Chef you’ll need to be able to work under pressure, prepare large volumes of food, adhere to all food hygiene practices and you may be called upon to manage the food budget.
