In the engineering sector, a Chef is responsible for managing food preparation tasks within professional facilities, such as on construction sites and staff canteens. Candidates do not necessary need to have previous experience working in the engineering sector to successfully secure a Chef position, if they have operated in a kitchen before preparing food.

Key responsibilities include designing nutritious menus, sourcing ingredients, and supervising cooking processes to maintain strict quality and safety standards. As a Chef you’ll also need to support with supervision of the kitchen team and assist management with planning work rotas.

Companies looking to hire Chefs typically require candidates to have food safety certifications, previous experience (not necessarily in an industrial environment), strong communication and time-management skills. To work in this role as a Chef you’ll need to be able to work under pressure, prepare large volumes of food, adhere to all food hygiene practices and you may be called upon to manage the food budget.

Lossiemouth is a town on the east coast of Scotland, in Moray. Lossiemouth is situated on the Moray Firth about 10 miles east of Elgin. The town has a population of around 7,000 people and is famous for its surfing and also has one of Britain's biggest fishing fleets based here.

Lossiemouth's engineering sector is the town's most notable. It contributes significantly towards the local economy as well as providing many jobs in and around the town.

Lossiemouth has its own train station and there are frequent services between Inverness and Aberdeen, with direct trains going as far as London via York or Newcastle/Darlington. Lossiemouth also has a bus station with connections to other parts of Moray and Aberdeenshire.
