​Heysham

Heysham is a small town on the coast of Lancashire, England. It is by the Irish Sea and has a harbour, which connects it to Ireland or Scotland. Heysham has a reputation for being easy to get around and its laid-back attitude makes it a popular port for tourists. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, with more opening every year as the economy grows.

Heysham is home to the largest nuclear power plants in Europe. It was built over a three-year period between 1966 and 1969 to provide electricity for the national grid. With six reactors, it produces 8% of UK's electricity, enough power for six million homes.

Heysham has good transport links to the surrounding areas including Bridgewater and Morecambe. The town has its own railway station, which sees services connecting you with Burnley, Blackpool, Leeds and Manchester. You can also use the Heysham Ferry Terminal to travel further afield to Ireland or Northern Ireland via Belfast. There are two bus services running through Heysham as well, which connect you to Lancaster and Fleetwood.
