An Outage Planner plays an integral role in coordinating and scheduling planned works, shutdowns, or outages to minimise disruption to operations. The Outage Planner implements meticulous planning methodologies to schedule manpower, materials, and machinery for the smooth execution of engineering outages.

Required skills for an Outage Planner include excellent organisational skills, detailed technical understanding, and proficiency in planning software tools such as Primavera P6. Typically, a degree in engineering or a related field is mandatory.

Prior experience as an Outage Planner is highly desirable. Companies look for candidates who have demonstrated experience in planning and managing outage schedules effectively within the engineering sector, along with a proven ability to mitigate potential risks associated with outages.

 

Renfrew

Renfrew is on the banks of the river Clyde, 30 miles west of Glasgow. Traditionally a shipbuilding and engineering town. Renfrew is a small but very picturesque market town. There's an excellent range of shops and historic buildings, including the Rubislaw Garden, where you can enjoy views over the River Clyde.

There are several engineering companies in Renfrew; a lot of which specialise in the construction of large-scale projects such as bridges and other complex engineering ventures.
