​Planning Engineer

A Planning Engineer is a senior level engineering position that is responsible for all aspects of a project, from conception to completion. People working as a Planning Engineer must have a wide range of skills, including project management and technical expertise, to ensure the success of large and complex projects.

The Planning Engineer position is a role that focuses on ensuring that production meets expected demand. They are responsible for forecasting and preparing materials, carrying out regular stock checks and inspecting the quality of new products.

A Planning Engineer is a key member of the project team, who works with other engineers to ensure the design meets client needs, whilst keeping within budget. The Planning Engineer is expected to be familiar with the concepts of project delivery and drawing to scale - whilst communicating effectively with others. Most employers will look for training in design and computer skills in addition to relevant qualifications such as an HNC/D or BSc (Hons) Degree in Civil Engineering or similar.
