Hartburn is a small, picturesque village in Northumberland. It has a population of around 200 people and is close to the town of Holy Island and Bamburgh Castle.

There is significant engineering history in Hartburn, with the railways and traditional industries being strong within the area. In recent years the department has seen a revival of manufacturing and technology, with many companies choosing to set up their sites here due to the skilled talent that exists in this area.

Hartburn lies at the junction of the A68 and B6341. There are regular buses from Hartburn to Hexham and Newcastle, as well as local services from Cramlington or Otterburn.
