NRL are currently recruiting for an Asset Management Engineer to work with a client of ours, a leading engineering consultancy. This is a contract role, based in London.

 
Role Responsibilities:
  • Developing the; Asset Breakdown Structure, Object Type Library, Ontology and Taxonomy as the means to capture requirements in a structured and consistent manner
  • Defining the whole life Asset Management requirements in line with the business case and customer experience outcomes.
  • Leading the production of the Exchange Information Requirements for each contract to ensure that our client’s data deliverables are fully specified and that their delivery can be monitored and reported over the life of each contract.
  • Working with the Engineering Heads and Programme Engineering Managers in terms of assuring the whole life Asset Management requirements are configured by the Technical Partner in line with the whole life Asset Management requirements.
  • Assuring technical compliance through appropriate Verification & Validation and technical approvals.
  • Challenging requirements to ensure that our client deliver Asset Management that delivers a compliant whole railway solution (operationally and systematically) and meets legislative requirements and industry standards.
  • Driving Asset Management activities for the programme to enable the delivery of an integrated railway system and the achievement of the necessary safety and performance outcomes.
  • Actively manage and mitigate our client’s system engineering and technical risks, including those related to Asset Management, whilst assuring that technical risk is appropriately managed within delivery partners
  • Leading the Asset Management approach across the programme including ownership of the interfaces for this system and playing a key role in the Whole System Architecture activities, of which this forms a critical part.
  • Guiding Capital Delivery in implementing the Asset Management requirements and strategy working closely with your peers in the rest of the Engineering Directorate.
  • Actively managing and accelerating engineering innovation in relation to meet our client’s challenges.

Role Requirements:
  • Chartered or Incorporated engineer, or equivalent professional experience and training in the field of engineering or the equivalent in a technical and/or scientific discipline. 
  • You will need to have the necessary level of security clearance and the right to work in the UK.
  • Extensive experience of applying asset management standards and approaches, preferably with a modern and innovative perspective and familiarity with AIMS, ABS, OTL, Ontologies, Taxonomies and BIM.
  • Broad experience of specifying, planning and performing Asset Management activities on a major programme working as part of a regulated organisation with multiple complex interfaces.
  • Experience of applying the engineering lifecycle including requirements, specification, design, build and maintenance and verification and validation in relation to your specialism.
  • Extensive experience of Asset Management specification and design, including interface definition and management and control of same on a multi-disciplinary programme.
  • Detailed understanding of what Asset Management is, what its critical dependencies and interfaces are (including operational ones) and how this should be managed and controlled on a safety critical programme.
  • Excellent experience of engaging with peers and stakeholders on your specialism.
  • Extensive experience of change management, rapidly adapting to emerging requirements, changing circumstances and high levels of uncertainty and ambiguity in a fast-changing environment.
  • Working within relevant UK rail industry legislation and standards
  • Specification, design & implementation of Asset Management requirements and approaches preferably gained on mainline railways, including specifying Exchange Information Requirements
  • Supporting the specification, and implementation of the asset management information system(s)
  • Delivery and assurance of integrated safety critical asset information solutions within large scale and technically complex projects.
  • Performance of asset management activities necessary to support high integrity systems operating in a safety critical environment.
  • Analysis of complex data, drawing effective conclusions and rapidly producing solutions and decisions.
  • Excellent communication with the ability to promote and execute Technical Strategy and Plans.
  • System Integration, Interface Management, Specifying for Asset Management, System Acceptance of same and associated approaches and techniques.
  • Innovation and change management, including best practice continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Risk management and control and best practice architecture and requirements management tools and methodologies.
