NRL is recruiting for an Authorised Person - Mechanical to be based at the Queen Alexandra Hospital. This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. The client has secured a long-term contract to provide total facilities management - including property and building services management, energy services, construction project works and asset lifecycle replacement at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust’s Queen Alexandra Hospital (QAH).

About the role:

  • Management of Boiler and Pressure Systems

  • Management Specialised Ventilation System

  • Management of Piped Medical Gas services

  • Providing technical support to hospital FM teams, as well as NHS service users

  • Managing plant and equipment maintenance in line with agreed levels

  • Supervising and overseeing contractor activities on hospital plant

  • Providing authorised person duties to ensure compliance with HTM’s and regulatory standards.

  • Proactively assisting in the ongoing development of FM services

  • Demonstrating knowledge and leadership in a multitude of engineering principles

What you will need:

  • ONC / HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, ideally with a trade background 

  • Previous experience in management of Hard FM Services within a hospital or similar environment

  • Currently a holder of or previously held appointment as:

  • Authorised Person Boilers and Pressure Systems

  • Authorised Person Ventilation

  • Authorised Person Medical Gas Pipeline Systems
