NRL are currently recruiting on behalf of an engineering consultancy that requires an Assistant Traffic Manager for work on HS2 on a contract, initially for 6 months, based in Birmingham.

 
Role Responsibilities:
  • Annual reviews of data and preparing analysis and recommendations, as required by the Head of Transport Management;
  • Ensuring that public interface mapping is up to date, related to highway works information, in liaison with the Transport Manager – Mapping and Data;
  • Tracking the timely preparation of contractor submissions and EToN notifications and intervening as necessary;
  • Providing a secretariat for a number of local Traffic Liaison meetings;
  • Co-ordinating the provision and maintenance of contractor direction signing requirements;
  • Acceptance of contractor condition surveys, review and handover as required
  • Reviewing traffic drawings and materials to support stakeholder engagement activities
  • Attending other meetings, including public consultation or engagement events
  • Researching and providing written responses to stakeholder enquiries, particularly related to the impacts of construction activities and in liaison with other H2 teams
  • Reviewing contractor flow information and assuring compliance with the project Environmental Minimum Requirements;
  • Providing other general assistance to the Area Traffic Managers, appropriate to experience, including assisting other members of the Transport Management Team as required.
  • Assist with the co-ordination of wider street works programmes;
  • Help ensure that strategic and local modelling tools are updated as necessary and that they remain fit-for-purpose;
  • Assist with the review, submission and monitoring of applications for highway consent for highway works to be carried out by the contractors.
  • Liaise with the monitoring team with regard to assurance that it complies with the approved temporary traffic management layouts submitted for approval.
  • Assist with the review of the contractors’ construction programs and review if method constraints are required to meet the requirements of the project’s Environmental Statement and, where necessary discuss with the Area Traffic Manager.
  • Ensure the successful, on-time delivery of the project.
