Our client has a contract opportunity for CAD operator – Grangemouth
 
This will be a contract based on site, duration circa 4 months but likely to extend.
 
The CAD operator will report to the Engineering Manager.
 
Duties and Experience:
 
  • To maintain the sites master drawings following project / minor plant mod delivery
  • To own and develop site drawing format and standards
  • Source of expertise for CAD
  • Update the master drawings for 20-30 projects per year
  • Several 1000 drawings per year
 
Dimensions:
 
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to frequent project changes
  • Accuracy and effectiveness in electronic drafting
  • Maintain, support and operate associated plotters and printers
  • Perform drawing and technology research
  • Coordinating with Designers /  Asset engineers to allocate tag, equipment and drawing numbers and update the relevant databases / systems
  • Ensure all Master/critical drawings are formatted, layered and created in line with company and international standards
  • Update master drawings following the delivery of a project or minor plant mod in line with 3rd party engineering dossiers or plant mods. This includes update of unspecified but related drawings
  • Interacting with Designers, Project Managers, Engineers, Operations and other personnel to incorporate concepts and information into drawing packages
  • As required re-layout master drawings to ensure legibility
  • Lead maintenance and development of CAD environment for site
  • Lead development of company standards for drawings
  • Auto CAD expert, Alfresco & Maximo user
 
Qualifications:
 
  • ONC/HNC qualified or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
  • Auto CAD user and completed an accredited course
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • High level of IT skills.
  • Highly organised in handling large amounts of drawings and associated data
